Buy and sell Dogecoin (DOGE) with South African rands
New Spot Trading Pair Launch: DOGE/ZAR on VALR
VALR will be listing DOGE/ZAR Spot trading pair on 13 November at 08:13 UTC (10:13 SAST). Deposits for Dogecoin (DOGE) are already open, and customers can deposit DOGE into their VALR accounts via the Dogecoin network.
What Does This Mean for You?
Pro Trading:
In addition to trading DOGE with Tether (USDT), advanced traders can now trade DOGE with South African rands (ZAR) on VALR’s Pro trading platform.
You will have access to limit and post-only limit order types, and we will enable market and stop-limit orders once liquidity increases.
Simple Buy/Sell:
No changes here - DOGE remains available for buying or selling with ZAR, USDC, and USDT through Simple Buy/Sell.
Launch Stages for DOGE/ZAR on VALR
The DOGE/ZAR trading launch will roll-out over three stages as described below.
We may keep any particular stage open as long as is needed to ensure a healthy market dynamic. Please follow our VALR Twitter (X) account where announcements will be made as the launch progresses from stage to stage.
Post-only Stage (13 November @ 08:13 UTC): In this stage, starting at 08:13 UTC, customers will be able to post buy-orders and sell-orders on the Exchange Buy/Sell screen. No matching (or completion) of trades will be allowed, which will give time for the order book to fill up with sufficient liquidity from traders. This stage will last a minimum of 10 minutes.
Limit-only (at least 10 minutes after Post-only stage): In this stage, customers can only place limit orders on the Exchange Buy/Sell screen (market orders and the Simple Buy/Sell feature will not yet be enabled). During this stage, orders will be allowed to match. This stage will last at least 1 hour.
Full trading (at least 20 minutes after Limit-only stage): All trades, including market orders, will be allowed.
Follow our VALR Twitter (X) account for live updates as each stage progresses.
