Are you a South African VALR customer? Now’s your chance to earn up to R2,500 by referring your friends and family living abroad to join VALR!
From 24 February to 9 March 2025, VALR customers in South Africa can invite South African passport holders living overseas to sign up, verify, and deposit to earn exciting rewards.
Here’s how it works:
For South African VALR users:
Get your unique referral code from your VALR account.
Share your code with your South African friends or family abroad (with the exclusion of Prohibited Countries).
Earn up to R500 for each successful referral (with rewards capped at R2,500 per user), who signs up, verifies, and deposits at least R500 worth of ZAR (or the equivalent in USD or EUR) during the Promotional Period.
Rewards are based on post-promotion evaluation and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
For Friends and Family Abroad:
Sign up using a referral code from your South African contact.
Complete full verification (KYC 2) on VALR.
Deposit at least R500 worth of ZAR (or the equivalent in USD or EUR) into your account during the Promotion Period.
Earn up to R1,000 as a welcome reward. The amount you receive will depend on the total number of participants and your deposit amount.
Note: While deposits are not mandatory, depositing at least R500 worth of ZAR (or the equivalent in USD or EUR) increases your chances of earning a reward and maximizes your potential payout.

South Africans Overseas Referral Promotion
Promotion Ts & Cs (“Rules”):
1. This promotional campaign (“Promotion”) is run by VALR Pty Ltd (“VALR”).
2. This offer may be used in conjunction with any other competition or promotion run by VALR, except where the terms of such other competition or promotion prohibits or excludes winning in this current Promotion.
3. The Promotion period (“Promotion Period”) begins at 00.00 am UTC, February 24th 2025 and ends at 23:59 pm UTC, March 9th 2024 (“closing date”).
4. Winners will be announced within 7 South African business days after the closing date.
5. Rewards will be distributed within 7 South African business days after the closing date.
6. The Promotion is only available to existing VALR customers who have completed their KYC 2 (Fully-verified status) on VALR as well as new VALR customers who sign up for a VALR account using the unique referral code provided by a South African fully-verified user, and deposits at at least R500 worth of ZAR (or the equivalent in USD or EUR), during the Promotion Period.
7. Referred Users living outside of South Africa are required to sign up for a VALR account during the Promotion Period using a referral code given to them by their South African Referrer and must successfully verify their identity and deposits at least R500 worth of ZAR (or the equivalent in USD or EUR), during the Promotion Period.
8. During the Promotion Period, Referrers can earn up to R500 for each successful referral using their referral code, and can earn up to a maximum of R2,500 in rewards. Rewards are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
9.The Referred User who signs up using the unique referral code of their South African Referrer within the Promotion Period, verifies their identity, and deposits at least R500 worth of ZAR (or the equivalent in USD or EUR) during the Promotion Period can earn up to R1000 in rewards. . Rewards are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
10. The total reward pool for this promotion is R100,000.
11. Rewards are not guaranteed, may differ per Participant or Referred User, are limited per Participant, and could amount to zero.
12. Rewards will be distributed to eligible Referrers and Referred Users on a first-come, first-served basis, and in ZAR only. VALR reserves the right to make a determination on the rewards and rewards winner(s) in its sole and absolute discretion.
13. Participation in this Promotion does not preclude a Referred or Referred User from benefiting from VALR’s Referral Programme.
Personal information:
Any personal information provided to VALR by a Participant for purposes of this Promotion will be treated in accordance with VALR’s Privacy Policy.
The nitty gritty:
1. The Promotion is open to all South African VALR customers, including South African passport holders as well residents of South Africa, excluding VALR’s directors, partners, employees, contractors, agents, consultants and their immediate families, any designated market makers and any persons resident in VALR’s list of prohibited countries.
2. Participation by all Participants constitutes acceptance of these Rules, VALR’s Terms of Service and Risk Disclosures. By entering the Promotion, you represent and warrant that you meet the eligibility criteria and you agree to accept that VALR may make decisions relating to this Promotion in its sole and absolute discretion and further that any decision made by VALR in terms of these Rules and the Promotion as final and binding including but not limited to any decisions regarding rewards, the reward pool and reward payouts. Any Participants found violating this clause will be removed from the Promotion and VALR may freeze or block such Participant's VALR account.
3. For the purposes of this Promotion, each day will be considered to run from 00:00 - 23:59 UTC.
4. VALR reserves the right at any time in its sole and absolute discretion to determine and/or amend or vary the Rules and the Promotion without prior notice, including but not limited to cancelling, extending, terminating or suspending the Promotion, the Rules, the rewards, the reward parameters, the reward pool, the eligibility terms and criteria, the selection and/or number of rewards or winners.
5. VALR reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to disqualify any Participants from participating in the Promotion and claiming rewards or disqualifying specific trades:
5.1. Where VALR finds the Participant to be party to any anticipated, suspected or actual:
Fraud;
Inappropriate, dishonest or abusive activities;
Use of fake or fraudulent accounts;
Manipulation or violation of these Rules, orMarket manipulation, self-dealing, wash trading or illegally bulk registered accounts; or
5.2. For any other reason as determined by VALR.
6. If you are selected as a reward winner, you agree and consent to VALR publishing your name, your VALR reference number / tag and/or social media handle on VALR’s social media pages, and VALR may make media announcements, publications of names, photographs of any reward winner(s), provided that any reward winner(s) may expressly elect to decline this.
7. VALR will announce on its social media pages when the Promotion has ended. No further rewards will be awarded once VALR has made such an announcement. The Participant should visit VALR’s social media pages regularly for updates.
8. These Rules will be governed and interpreted in accordance with South African law and any disputes arising from the Promotion will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.

Waiver
The Participant hereby releases, waives and discharges VALR and its affiliates from any and all liability, costs or expenses, claims, demands, actions and causes of action whatsoever for any loss or damages, that may be sustained by the Participant arising out of or relating to the Participant’s participation in the Promotion, or while in any way engaged with activities related to the Promotion, wherever, whenever, or however the same may occur, regardless of who is at fault and including as a result of the negligence or fault of VALR or its affiliates.
