VALR partners with UABA

VALR, the biggest crypto exchange headquartered in Africa, has partnered with the United Africa Blockchain Association (UABA) to advance blockchain technology across the continent.  The move is another step forward toward VALR’s vision of a financial system that recognises the oneness of humanity. 

What is UABA?

United Africa Blockchain Association (UABA) is a non-profit organisation formed for the promotion of blockchain technology in Africa, with the aim of creating partnerships and networks that deliver on life-changing blockchain projects. Based in Lusaka, Zambia, the mission of UABA is to unify the African blockchain ecosystem toward goals including financial inclusion, skills development and the alleviation of poverty. 

What does this partnership mean?

"Partnering with VALR, will enable UABA to continue educating the African continent as well as bring real use cases and access to all who need it,” says Yaliwe Soko, Chairperson of United Africa Blockchain Association “This indeed is one step closer to achieving UABA’s 1 Million in Blockchain in Africa mission."

“VALR is passionate about supporting and enabling the crypto ecosystem, particularly in Africa where we play a critical role in bridging the traditional financial infrastructure to new crypto rails,” explains Blake Player, VALR’s head of international expansion. “Through our partnership with UABA, we hope to assist them in achieving their objective to enhance and promote education about blockchain technology in Africa. We will also leverage their wide network to assist us in opening new markets for VALR so we can serve more of Africa with our technology infrastructure.”
